A good weight set is the fundamental "bread and butter" of any gym. Whether you are just getting started free weight training, decided you want to build your own home gym, or looking to stock a commercial location these weight set packages are an economical and cheap way to buy an entire set of weights in bulk. Most weight sets include the plates, a 7' Olympic bar with 2" collars and a set of spring weight clips.
The price for these sets vary depending on additional features and quality, along with the total weight in pounds that the set offers. Higher-end features for sets may include rubberized plates that are encased in rubber for quiter use, neoprene casing, grip or interlocking plate design and may also include upgraded bars.
Quality matters when it comes to buying a set of weights and you don't want to buy some cheap set that will chip, rust and generally not last. Many sets include cheap bars with a very low weight rating. These bars can be dangerous to use! Also, cheaper weight sets can have a large weight variance per each plate so your 45lb plates could actually weight less or more by +/- 5 POUNDS!
